Megan Petersen's journey into rollerblading coincided with a challenging time in her life when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. At the age of 15, she discovered her love for rollerblading and became engrossed in the culture, immersing herself in the world of rollerblading through publications like Daily Bread Magazines and videos like Negrete's "Road To Nowhere."
During this period, Megan found inspiration from influential figures in the rollerblading community. She gives a special shout-out to Angie Walton from Daily Bread Magazines and Kaya Turski for her remarkable section in the Negrete video. Another important aspect of Megan's journey was her interest in photography.
Driven by her passion for the sport, Megan dedicated the next 4 years to regaining her health and ultimately made the decision to move to San Diego, California. However, it took a few more years for her to feel strong enough, both physically and mentally, to embark on her rollerblading journey. Once she reached that point, Megan fully embraced rollerblading getting a house with several girls in 2012 establishing the beginning of The Bladies.
Now, with a deep-rooted connection to the sport and many incredible skaters, Megan is dedicated to the joys of skating and the community.
Partnering with USD / Powerslide to create the first Bladies USD AEON skate, Megan is pushing the industry to provide more skates and products made for the ladies in blading. The second collab skate being a (Razors) Loca X Bladies skate. Megan is motivated to push the industry in creating more skates and opportunities for females in a male dominated industry.
